King Rama III ordered to construct Borom Banphot or Golden Mount to be a Phra Prang but his reign ended and King Rama IV decided to build instead the Chedi. Lanka-style Chedi was added to the top of the Golden Mount during King Rama IV’s reign. The Chedi was completed in the reign of King Rama V.
